Hassan Khoyihami Memorial Degree College Bandipora celebrated ‘Digital India Week 2022, on the theme “Techno-Life” by organizing different programs consisting of lecture series and Quiz competitions today on 30th of July 2022. The main aim was to popularize the digital technology, its applications and advantages towards mankind. The program was jointly organized by the Department of Physics, Computer Applications and NSS units of the college. The whole event was conducted under the patronage and guidance of the Principal of the College, Dr. Mohd Amin Malik in which faculty, students and non-teaching staff participated. The Principal of the college and two faculty delivered lectures on the occasion.
In his lecture, Dr. Malik, gave an overview of Digital Week Celebrations in India, the progress India has made in the technology and discussed in detail how the digital revolution is sweeping the world and transforming every aspect of our existence. He said that the technological innovations are penetrating deep into our lives and the humanity may be able to solve its long pending issues in energy, human health, education, transportation, climate change etc. In one & half hour long PPT with the help of animation, Dr Malik demonstrated in detail how Information and Communication Technology (ICT) can be used to enhance student learning and better teaching methods and pedagogy, which can improve the quality of education in our institutions. Dr Malik displayed scores of animations and explained how complex scientific topics can be grasped clearly. Dr. Irshad Ahmad Bhat, HOD, Department of Physics, delivered a lecture on the theme ‘Techno- Life” wherein he has discussed about how technology has evolved from science and its transformation from Analog to Digital form. Dr Irshad stressed upon the creative and balance between technology and established tradition for actual celebration and fruition.
Prof. Parwaz Ahmad Malla, HOD, Department of computer applications, delivered a lecture on different ICT educational tools and gave a detailed description on various initiatives developed by Ministry of Education Govt of India. Later the students interacted in question answer session in which the principal and other speakers answered the questions that left the participants highly inspired. An Online Quiz competition was also organized on the occasion, in which 100 students participated. The result of the Quiz Competition was revealed on spot and the students who won the top three positions were felicitated with certificates. The proceedings of the program was conducted by Dr. Irshad Ahmad Bhat and culminated with the vote of thanks presented by Prof. Abdul Gani Kumar.
